My name is Samantha Helle. I am 14 years old and my birthday is May 16. I like both WIXY 100.3 and Q96. Q96 is my fav but because my family listens to country I know a lot of songs from there, too.
My best friends are Mandi and Erica. I am a high school cheerleader with Mandi and we have a lot of fun cheering together. Erica and I have learned every square inch of our town together and we can get from one side to the other by every single route there is, no problems.
Just lately, I graduated 8th grade. While it's hard to believe that I'm going to be in high school next year, I think I'll like it. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying my summer break, although I haven't been on any vacations yet. So, yes you're right, all I'm really enjoying so far are the abilities to sleep in, stay out later, and (the definite plus, as I'm sure all will agree) NO HOMEWORK! Later this summer, I will be visiting cousins in Texas, traveling to Missouri for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary celebration and all out family reunion, and spending a week in Iowa with those same grandparents.
I love reading. My favorite authors are Tamora Pierce, J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, Sharon Creech, Francine Pascal, Lloyd Alexander, Jane Yolen, Carol Kendall, Agatha Christie, Meredith Ann Pierce, Brian Jacques, Phillip Pullman (well it's about time he got that book out! I was happy to see that it was very long with small print. Maybe, that gives him a slight excuse.), T.A. Barron, Carol Matas, Perry Nodelman, Anne McCaffrey, Frances Temple, Susan Fletcher, Robin McKinley, L.J. Smith, Ursula K. LeGuin, Avi, and Margaret Peterson Haddix. I guess when you read as much as me, you get a lot of favorite authors! I could probably add a few more but I think you get the idea with these.
I also play the trombone in my school's band (even though I haven't been doing much of anything that requires work so far in my summer break), sing in chorus and play piano. I think I'm starting my eighth year of piano next year, but I can't quite remember, it's been so long. I'll have to ask someone about that.....
