Police Training Institute

The new officers must then attend the Basic Law Enforcement course at the Police Training Institute (PTI). The course is twelve weeks long and the officers must live in the housing provided for them. During the twelve weeks the officers learn how to shoot, the policies and procedures, how to make traffic stops, how to write reports and many other things. After completing the course at PTI the officers then attend another one-week orientation where they learn specific information about how their department does things.
