Turn to channel 7 on Urbana cable at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and you just might
catch JOURN 445 students broadcasting a live half-hour newscast. Students are in
charge of every aspect of the newscast, which they put together on the same day
it airs.
Richmond Journalism Studio is ripe with a flurry of activity on lab days.
Students man the sound boards, run videotapes, edit graphics and read over news
stories. Instructors let students control all aspects of producing the entire
half hour newscast.

What do I need for this class?
In addition to the required text, students should expect to spend about $30 for

Are there any exams?

The quizzes also cover the reading material and are worth 10 percent of your
final grade.
